i play with paper obsessively.
whether stacking layers of cut paper or reworking familiar objects, their development never goes as planned. this is where careful planning and precision hug surprise.

i was born in japan (1970), but grew up near seattle. after nearly 30 years in europe, i call amsterdam home.
having spent years demanding meaning from every piece, i’m learning to let paper lead the dance. narrative can take a backseat while i learn to linger in what’s playful, haunted or incomplete.
